Merry Christmas from Segway New Zealand

Merry Christmas to every Segway Personal Transporter (PT) owner, future owner, and enthusiast in New Zealand.

We hope you’re enjoying the freedom and adventure the Segway PT brings, as you explore the great outdoors with friends and family on long summer glides.

Segway NZ offers Technical Support to owners and fields enquiries 365 days a year, here’s how you can contact us.

During this holiday period Segway PTs are hard at work throughout the country. You can find them being used by management staff at motor camps, on security patrol at many locations, and delivering better public safety by Police in Taupo. St John will have their ambulance PTs delivering faster emergency response at many outdoor public events and concerts.

Look for many more deployments in these areas during 2010, as organisations discover how the Segway PT enables them to do more with less.

Happy Birthday Segway, Inc.

It was 8 years ago today that Dean Kamen unveiled the Segway Personal Transporter (PT) on US television. Read all about how far we’ve come at The Last Mile.

While consumers had to wait more than a year to buy the PT, which went on sale on 31 March 2003, the first commercial customers began rolling out PTs from mid-2002 (including US Postal Service, Boeing, police in Boston and Atlanta, and utility company meter readers).

Today some 60,000 Segway PTs are in use worldwide, changing the way individuals get around, improving business profitability, and enhancing public safety.
