Sunday Star-Times reflects popularity of Segway Tours

Today’s Sunday Star-Times featured a great photo and article about Kiwis taking a Segway Tour of Washington, D.C.

Segway Tours have become increasingly popular in recent years, and New Zealand was one of the pioneers of this tourist activity. The first two businesses starting in Wellington and Queenstown, and now there are Segway Tours and Short Rides available at more than a dozen locations nationwide.

Segway Tours have become an important new offering in the tourism sector. When international visitors arrive in a town, they expect to find a Segway Tour option. Not only is taking in the sights of a scenic destination on a Segway Personal Transporter (PT) a fun and novel experience, it is also a great way to see more in the limited time available on any visit. Often, one or more individuals in a group of tourists has limited mobility or simply tired out, so Segway Tours are an option that everyone can enjoy.
