KIWIreviews is New Zealand’s trusted technology review site because it doesn’t accept paid placement or advertising. Recently writer Karl Ogle reviewed the Segway i2 model Personal Transporter (PT), and scored it 9.3 out of 10.
The i2 has now been upgraded to the new i2 SE model (great new features, same pice), and everything Karl loves about the i2 in his review applies to new i2 SE as well.
Karl rode a Segway i2 daily around the streets of Hamilton, using the Personal Transporter to replace many of his journeys in the CBD for which he otherwise would have taken this car. Here’s an excerpt from his review
….Once you get the hang of using it – which takes less than 10 minutes for the basics – it’s like some super-science mind-reading thing! You think go, it moves. You think stop, it stops. By the end of your third day, it will be utterly instinctive.
Sounding pretty good, yeah? Yeah! As a local-commute vehicle this is ideal in cities where parking in the CBD is pretty horrible – either price-wise like Auckland or Wellington, or location-wise like Hamilton. Ride it almost right up to your desk, because it fits through standard doors and even into elevators easily. I know this, because, after seeking permission, I took this little beauty places it would never normally be allowed. Heck, I even did one of my weekly grocery shops riding this – it handles a dream in even narrow supermarket aisles.
KIWIreviews awarded the Segway i2 four stars (9.3/10) and named it a ‘REVIEWERS CHOICE’ product. You can read the full review here.
